The National Company for Agricultural Services has completed the development of the International Quarantine for Horses at Janadriyah, the first destination for handling all quarantine-related procedures for horses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The international quarantine provides various services, including issuing export certificates, processing import, export, and transit permits, and overseeing the temporary quarantine of horses participating in international championships and competitions held in the Kingdom.
The Executive Director of the International Quarantine, Mr. Mohammed Al-Rajban, stated that the development project aligns with AgriServ's strategy to enhance service quality and improve operational efficiency. The development efforts included upgrading the administrative building infrastructure, establishing a dedicated unit for blood sample fractionation, setting up a water desalination plant, renovating both stables and warehouses, and implementing an inventory management system. Additionally, AgriServ established specialized training arenas and guest accommodations for horse caretakers, further enhancing internal monitoring and surveillance systems to ensure continuous veterinary oversight of the horses in the stables.
The International Quarantine is a leading center, attracting both local and international interest. It has welcomed visits from educational institutions and major global organizations, including a delegation from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
The International Quarantine for Horses at Janadriyah is one of the quarantine facilities assigned to AgriServ by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. Through the development, AgriServ strives to implement international standards, ensuring a fully integrated and healthy environment for the equine sector.
